Alexander Nevsky Bridge

The Alexander Nevsky Bridge was built in the 1960s in order to connect Malaya Okhta region with the rest of the city by the highway. The authors of the project were engineers A. Evdonin, K. Klochkov and G. Stepanow and architects A. Zhuk, S. Mayofis and J. Sinitsa. Famous Alexander Nevsky monastery, an important center of Russian Orthodox Christianity in Northern capital, is located nearby.
The Alexander Nevsky Bridge is the longest bridge in Saint Petersburg. Its length is 905.7 meters and width - 35 meters. It consists of seven spans with drawing central one. It also boasts several innovations including iron-concrete support shells, improved beam span support and eight-sided columns for stronger bank abutment. The bridge's railings, lamps and other features are in a functional, modern and strict style.
There is also a two-level transport junction on the both sides of the river in front of the bridge.
